Election day is June 7; voters can cast their ballots now | News

The voting process for the June 7th direct primaries is underway.

The San Bernardino County Voter Registrar began mailing ballots to the U.S. Postal Service on May 9 for each of the county’s 1.15 million active registered voters.

Voters, however, do not have to wait for election day, Tuesday, June 7, or wait to receive the ballot paper by mail, to vote earlier.

Voters can pick up and cast their ballots at the Voter Registration Office at 777 E. Rialto Avenue in San Bernardino during regular business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office will be open for voting on Saturday, June 4, from 08:00 to 17:00

An early polling station is just one of four safe ways to cast your ballot in San Bernardino County. Voters can also return their ballot by free mail. The county has prepaid the postage on the return envelopes. Ballot papers must be stamped on June 7 or before June 7 to be counted.

The Voter Registry also has 76 locations for mailing ballots throughout the county that are open until 8:00 pm Election Day. To find a location closer to them, voters can use the “Posting Voting Locations” tool on the Voter Registrar website at www.SBCountyElections.com.

On June 7, voters can also vote from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at their neighborhood polling station or Voter Registration office.

Eligible voters who have not previously voted can register to vote online or by submitting a paper voter registration application by Monday, May 23rd. The submission of ballots by mail will continue as additional voters register or update their address by Tuesday, May 31st.

After May 23, new voters must register on condition that they vote in person at the Voter Registration Office, at an early polling station, or at a polling station. They will then be able to cast an interim vote in the by-elections.

To assist voters, District Voter Information Guidelines began mailed on May 3rd. Guidelines include a sample ballot paper, candidate statements, early voting areas, and other important information about these elections.

Voters can also access the District Voter Information Guide by visiting www.SBCountyElections.com and by clicking on the election link.

Voters can find their designated polling station in the neighborhood on the back cover of the District Voter Information Guide using the My Elections Gateway app on the Voter Registrar website or by calling (909) 387-8300.
