Dusty Baker became the 12th manager in the history of the major leagues and the first black man to reach 2,000 victories with the 4-0 victory of the Houston Astros over the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.

Jordan Alvarez and Jose Altuve scored a solo Homer, and rookie Jeremy Pena had two RBIs to help Astros win for the second time in a row.

Ten of the other 11 managers, who have accumulated at least 2,000 victories, are in the Hall of Fame. The only exception is Bruce Bocci (2003), who is still not eligible.

The 72-year-old Baker’s career record is 2000-1745 and he is the only manager in Premier League history to lead five different teams in the post-season.

Baker, one of the two black managers in the big companies, said that being the first to reach the cornerstone “means extra for culture. This means extra for society. It means extra for my race and it means extra, I hope others get the chance (so I’m not the last). “

Christian Javier (2-0) conceded two goals over 5 1/3 innings in his second start since the opening of the season at the bullpen in Houston. Three relievers combined after Javier’s departure to exclude the Mariners.

Seattle’s JP Crawford scored 0 to 4 with an out to break a 11-game streak. Chris Flexen (1-4) lost.
