HESPERIA, California (VVNG.com) – A 44-year-old man died after being thrown out of his truck during an accident during a rollover in Hesperia.
On Saturday, March 12, 2022, at about 1:01 p.m., Hesperia station deputies and San Bernardino County Fire Department emergency personnel responded to a 1994 traffic accident involving GMC Sierra near Mariposa Road and Short Street.
According to a preliminary investigation, the GMC is believed to have traveled south of Mariposa Road, left the eastern edge of the road and overturned in a field where the driver was ejected.
Firefighters confirmed that the driver was under the truck and stated that he died on the spot. His name was hidden until his closest relatives were notified.
Investigators from the Hesperia Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded and took over the investigation.
Sheriff’s officials said they were still investigating whether drugs and / or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
In addition, authorities are currently investigating what time the accident actually occurred. Several commentators on the VVNG live video reported seeing the wrecked vehicle early in the morning around 8:00 a.m., while other reports suggest it could have happened just before midnight.
