Driver attempts to avoid accident, hits a pedestrian, who dies | News

A woman in Bakersfield was killed in a car attack on Friday, according to a California Highway Patrol.

Chrysler was preparing to move west on Norris Road, approaching California Street, and turn left on California Street. Toyota was moving east on Norris Road, approaching California Street, according to a CHP news release.

According to a CHP news release, Chrysler turned left into the path of a slightly injured Toyota. A few minutes later, Acura was heading for a collision. According to a news release, the driver tried to avoid the collision, but instead overcame the collision and attacked a pedestrian.

According to the coroner’s office, a pedestrian identified by the coroner as 37-year-old Samantha Sharp died on the scene.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be the cause of the crash and are under investigation, CHP said.
