People in Draghorn rallied around Ukraine with donations and banners after the Russian invasion.
Residents filled the Dunlop Memorial Hall after members of Irwin and Draghorn Brass Ban asked to donate to Poland – while Graham Crowley of Auld Lang Signs made banners and “Dragin Supports Ukraine” banners and stickers to “complete”.
Mr Crowley said: “We sell them as stickers. 1 pound covers the costs, and 1 pound goes to support a charity in Ukraine. One thing in Draghorn is that they all stick together.
“It’s just shocking what is happening in Ukraine, and it seems like a lot of lies and confusion on the part of Putin.”
Irwin and Draghorn Brass said: “Thank you to everyone who donated clothes or other things this weekend.
“The response has been truly staggering. So much so that we are short of space now and unable to accept donations! If we vacate the space again, we will inform everyone.”
