‘Dopesick’ trailer: Hulu miniseries starring Michael Keaton tackles opioid epidemic

Hulu’s drama miniseries “Dopesick” addresses the epidemic of opioids, one of America’s greatest modern horrors.

The eight-episode series, starring and executive-produced by executive producers Danny Strong and Michael Keaton, records how Purdue Pharma introduced Oxycontin and caused the worst drug epidemic in history.

The limited series is based on Beth Macy’s best-selling non-fiction book, Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors and the Drug Company thatAddicted America. According to Hulu, the series takes viewers “from the Big Pharma boardroom to the suffering Virginia mining community to the DEA corridor, at the heart of America’s fight against opioid addiction.” ..

The series also features Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg, Will Poulter, John Fujinucker, Kaitlyn Dever and Rosario Dawson. Guest performers include Phillipa Soo and Jake McDorman.

The first three episodes of “Dopesick” will premiere on Hulu on Wednesday, October 13th.
