They came back after someone attacked a member of their group on Sunday, leaving the skull broken.
“Crime rates are exorbitant and we see it ourselves in this group,” said protest organizer Melanie Morgan. “Gavin needs to resign immediately.”
Morgan and her group of protesters returned on Monday because they didn’t want to be restricted to weekend violence.
“We don’t want to be silent,” Morgan said. “We are here to express our desire for new leadership in California.”
Governor Newsom has a big lead in polls for Tuesday’s elections. But Monday’s protesters believe the race is not a landslide.
“I think the race is much closer than people think,” she said. “It doesn’t matter if you win by one point. Everyone wins.”
The group said it would hold a watchdog on election night after the vote was over.
