‘Don’t Say Gay’ walkout organizer says he was suspended for passing out Pride flags

The organizer of a Florida student departure for the “Do Not Say Homosexual” bill says he was expelled from Flagler Palm Coast High School for leaving the Pride flags. Jack Petocz, 17, says nearly 500 students joined him in protesting. The bill would ban discussion on sexual orientation and gender identity in grades from kindergarten to third grade and would restrict conversation to other classes. Petokz says he was told the flags violated the students’ code of conduct. A spokesman for the school district said it had been “administratively justified” while the district was investigating.
