DOJ Alleges Google Tries to Hide Documents From Courts

Google “strongly and repeatedly” urged employees to protect business documents from disclosure in court through the use of false requests for legal advicethe US Department of Justice claimed in a court document filed Monday.

The reproach, reported formerly of Axios, is part of the Justice Department Antitrust proceedings against Googlein which the tech giant is accused of illegal monopolies in search and search engine advertising.

The department alleges Google used the approach to hide thousands of documents, including those detailing revenue share agreements and distribution agreements for Android mobile apps.

Google didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
