Disappearance of 18-year-old Nevada woman called ‘suspicious in nature’ by authorities

Nevada authorities are seeking the help of the public to find an 18-year-old woman who has been missing for more than a week. The disappearance of Naomi Irion is “suspicious nature”, according to a press release of the Sheriff’s Office in Lyon, Nevada. Irion was last seen in her car in a Fernley car park in Nevada, Walmart, authorities said. She parked her car around 5am and was active on social media between 5:09 a.m. and 5:23 a.m., Detective Erik Kusmerz said in his Lyon county sheriff’s office during a news conference Tuesday. Irion’s sister Tamara Cartwright told CNN that Irion worked for Panasonic Energy in North America and was waiting to get the bus to work from Walmart. At 5:24 a.m., surveillance video showed a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants or jeans and dark tennis shoes approaching Irion’s vehicle. At 5:25 a.m., her vehicle was seen leaving the parking lot with the man driving, Kusmerz said. Police released surveillance videos and photos showing the man in the parking lot. On March 15, Irion’s vehicle was found near Walmart and is being processed, Kusmerz said. Authorities are seeking public help in locating a dark 2020 Chevrolet or newer 2500-3500 High Country Silverado Truck, Kusmerz said. Authorities did not provide details about the owner of the vehicle. “Please, save my daughter and bring her home,” Irion’s mother Diane Irion told a news conference. “Anything, any small, small information, please call … No information is too small to report. At this point, we need the help of everyone across the country because the incident happened so close to I-80. Fernley is located about 34 miles east of Reno.
