Called “Y: The Last Man,” this series follows survivors of a new world who are struggling to regain what they have lost.
“So now do you collapse without it, or do you find your foothold and inevitably reinvent society,” Diane Lane said.
Lane will star as a member of the House of Representatives who will become president.
“My character wasn’t voted,” Lane said. “She was left in this position because the line of inheritance was decimated.”
She rallyed other women to prevent a disaster, and she was doing a show in the middle of a pandemic.
“The framework of this story is very close to home,” Lane said.
It probably made it more meaningful, but it also became more difficult to shoot.
“Actually, we wear masks up to the’action’and rehearse with zoom and minimal contact, so we can learn how to show a lot of love with just our eyes,” says Lane.
After a long career, Lane is still working to perfect her technique.
“There’s something a little masochistic about being an actor because it creates a crisis so you can do miracles,” Lane said. A miracle cannot be done without a crisis. It’s kind of unique. They go together. “
The first three episodes are currently being streamed as part of Hulu’s FX. Both are owned by Disney, the same parent company as this station. Another episode will be available on Monday.
