Delta reportedly offered passengers $10,000 for oversold flight

Airlines facing major labor shortages are preparing for a fourth weekend trip in July.

Some airlines have already had to cancel or delay flights.

Earlier this week, the CEO of Delta apologized in advance to customers and offered free flight changes to passengers this weekend.

Some airlines will offer travel vouchers or gift cards for passengers who are willing to take a hit on over-sold flights, but what happened on a flight from Michigan to Minnesota this week is hardly heard.

According to the flight passengers, Delta offered $ 10,000 to leave eight seats on the plane.

Multiple social media travelers confirmed it, saying it all started at the door with a $ 5,000 offer.

When there were no recipients at the start of the boarding, the delta raised the offer to $ 7,500.

After the passengers boarded, an assistant aircraft announced that they were still looking for volunteers, each offering $ 10,000 in cash.

They say it still took about 20 minutes for enough people to get up and decide to take the offer.

Delta has not confirmed or denied the offer.
