  • A suspect driving a stolen van died in Oakland on Wednesday after the van burst into flames following a police pursuit. The male suspect, who has not been identified, continued to drive the van after police deployed “stop patrols” which punctured his tires while a helicopter followed overhead, the wheels eventually catching fire and “other accelerants” inside the van causing a fire , which ended up being the man’s cause of death.   • Asking rents in San Francisco remain about 20% below pre-pandemic levels, but are still 6% higher than this time last year. The number of apartments listed for rent has also returned to pre-pandemic levels. [Socketsite]
