SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A spring storm was predicted to bring devastating winds to the mountains and deserts of San Diego County on Sunday, which could knock down trees and power lines, with possible outages, the National Service announced. .

There is a warning for strong winds until 2 in the morning on Monday. Traveling can be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, due to the possible nature of desert sand and strong crosswinds.

A beacon of danger was issued on Sunday night for coastal areas with an elevated wave of 4 to 8 feet and a high risk of currents, which could create dangerous swimming conditions.

A warning was issued for small boats until 3 pm on Sunday and again from 5 am on Monday until 22:00 on Wednesday with northwest winds of 15 to 20 knots and gusts of up to 25 knots are expected.

High temperatures along the coast on Sunday were forecast to be 65 to 70 degrees with low overnight around 50 to 55 degrees.

Highs in the mountains were expected to be 61 to 69 with lows during the night 37 to 44, and highs in the deserts were projected at 86 to 91 with lows during the night 52 to 61.

Cool and stormy weather is forecast to continue through Wednesday, as another low-pressure area falls south over California. The weather could change significantly in the second half of the week, as the high pressure is rebuilding in the southwest.

Meteorologists expect the hot days to return inland by next weekend.
