Cyclists ride 545 miles in support of AIDS Foundation

Thousands of motorists and volunteers continued their 545 -mile AIDS/LifeCycle journey across the Central Coast on Wednesday.

The seven -day trip began in San Francisco and ended in Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, passengers traveled from Paso Robles to Santa Maria.

Participants raised more than $ 17.8 million.

They say it is the largest fundraiser in the event’s history.

Funds go to support the AIDS Foundation of San Francisco and the HIV services of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

“As you can tell from my dress, it was a very fun event full of costumes and laughter as we celebrated our arrival and the things we lost to the disease. HIV infection at the time, but also to celebrate the progress we have made. and go directly with those who continue to live with HIV on a daily basis, “said Drs. Tyler Termeer, Executive Director of the AIDS Foundation of San Francisco.

The bikes arrived at Preisker Park in Santa Maria on Wednesday and ended their day at Riverbend Park. On Thursday, they were going to Lompoc.

After that, the buses will travel to Santa Barbara and Ventura on Friday.
