Cyclist killed in September 11 crash

SAN JOSE – A cyclist was hit and killed by a car in San Jose earlier this month, police said.

The crash was reported on Murphy and Ringwood Avenues at 9:49 pm on September 11th. San Jose police said a man riding an eastbound e-bike on Murphy’s first lane stopped at an intersection despite a green light. A 2017 Lexus sedan was driving in the same direction and lane and was rear-ended by a cyclist.

Police said the man was taken to hospital but was in a stable condition with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police said there were no signs of alcohol or drug addiction.

The man had complications related to his injuries and was confirmed dead on Wednesday, police said. will be published.

The death marked the 48th fatal crash on the city’s roads and the 50th traffic fatality.
