IN California cyclist escaped sideways being mowed down when a Porsche fleeing police officer ran a red light and crashed into another car as the motorcyclist was crossing an intersection in a heart-stopping moment captured on surveillance video.

The video shows the blue Porsche SUV T-bone a silver sedan at high speed on 17th and Julian Streets in San Jose before spinning out and missing the unidentified motorcycle by inches.

Surprisingly, neither driver was seriously injured.

San Jose police said the driver of the Porsche SUV, Carlos Bryand, was fleeing from officers at the time of the incident after the 53-year-old driver was clocked for speeding.

Cops said they did not pursue the Porsche, per department protocol, but caught up and arrested Bryand after the accident.

“As an officer, this is the worst case scenario,” said San Jose Police Dept. Officer Steve Aponte.

‘You see so many transgressions at once that are dangerous not only to the drivers who do them or the riders who commit them, but to pedestrians.’

Tell Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s ABC News that the Porsche SUV involved in the accident was reported stolen after two carjacking suspects made the car in 2020.

Bryand, however, was not said to be a major suspect in that case.

After the accident, Bryand was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen car, reckless driving and other charges.

Video of the incident has already gone viral, with over 270,000 views on it Instagram in one day, as of Monday.

The dirty cars crashed into Danny Rey’s front yard, with the entire scene captured on his security cameras.

Rey said Friday that something needs to be done to improve traffic safety in the neighborhood, according to NBC Bay Area.

‘As you can see the traffic at the moment, we have people crossing the street and this is not the first accident. It’s ongoing, ‘he said.

“There are a lot of kids, there’s an elementary school, a high school and a high school and they all run through here,” Rey added.

“I knew this was going to happen because of all the speeding, all the red lights and all the accidents that happened.”
