Crews battling massive fire at commercial building in east central Fresno
A commercial building caught fire early Friday morning in Pine near Maple Avenue in an industrial area of the city.
A nearby business owner tells me that the burning building is a furniture finishing business. He says there are a lot of chemicals, so he heard gunshots around 4:20 p.m. Now he thinks it was an explosion. pic.twitter.com/dSHTMBYgTA

A cloud of dense smoke could be seen from miles away along Highway 180 and Highway 168.
Several crews responded to the fire. Firefighters used two pipes to attack the flames from a high staircase.
Authorities blocked many roads and crews continued to fight the blaze. They were expected to be at the spot for a few hours.
Drivers are kindly requested to avoid the area.
