Craig Talks series starts April 21 with ‘Wine, Water and Land’

The Craig School of Business in Fresno State will launch its new business series, Craig Talks, with “Wine, Water and Land”. at 6 p.m. April 21 at Peters Building 191 (University Business Center). Fresno State School and staff and community members are encouraged to attend.

“Craig’s talks will be a series of conversations that will translate faculty research into practical knowledge that the local business community can apply in practice,” she said. Julie B. Olson-Buchanan, Dean of the Craig School. “We’re adapting original teacher articles from Craig School’s Central California Business Review to quick, engaging presentations that give the most important research points.”

Craig’s talks on April 21 will include:

  • “Black Entrepreneurship in the Wine Industry” with Dr. Monique Bell of Craig School.
  • “Water Availability: Economic Impacts and Solutions” with Dr. Michael Shires of Pepperdine University, Laura Ramos of the California Institute of Water and Cordie Qualle of the Lyles College of Engineering in Fresno State.
  • “Real Estate Sentiment Index” with Dr. Jacqueline Curry and Dr. Andres Jauregui of the Craig School.

The speeches were adapted from the speakers’ articles in Craig’s Central California Business Review of April 2022 (Volume 4, Issue 1), which will be distributed free of charge on Craig Talks.

The presentations will be followed by a reception with wine and appetizers, with wines from black wine businessmen, including the Demetrius Porter Center Cork winery of the former Fresno State basketball star.

Olson-Buchanan said the Craig School will present another Craig Talks session in the fall of 2022 and hopes to extend the series to three or four sessions in 2023.
