Newport Beach (CBSLA) Police said Wednesday that a couple had been killed and three young children were seriously injured in a drunk driving crash at Newport Beach.
The crash occurred around 7:45 pm on Newport Coast Drive, a steep road through Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach.
The man and woman were declared dead on the scene. The man was identified as Santa Ana’s 27-year-old Henry Eduardo Sardanamesia. His wife’s name was withheld while waiting for her family’s notice.
The couple’s children (1, 3, 5 years old) were in the back seats and were taken to the hospital in crisis.
According to Michele Gile of CBSLA, parents are wearing pajamas and may have taken their children to see the Christmas illuminations in the area.
