County Public Health Agency Reports 246 New COVID Cases, 7 More Deaths

The County of San Diego Organization of Health and Human Services reported 246 new COVID-19 infections on Friday, along with seven more deaths.

According to the new data, the two years of pandemic in the prefecture amounted to 750,991 cases and 5,185 deaths.

The number of COVID-19 positive patients in county hospitals continued to decline steadily, falling to 130, down by three from Thursday’s reportaccording state numbers.

The county is one of three in the state with more than 100 COVID patients in local hospitals. Los Angeles County leads with 287, while Santa Clara has 107.

The number of local patients with COVID in the intensive care unit was reduced by one to 32. The number of available ICU beds in the prefecture is 252.

Meanwhile, Monday through Wednesday, the county reported more than 41,000 locally administered COVID tests. The percentage of positive seven days was 3.1%, slightly higher than the 2.8% reported on Tuesday.
