French startup Mooncard has partnered with Flying Blue to offer Air France miles to its customers. This is the first time you can earn miles with a French payment card that is not an American Express card.
Mooncard offers corporate payment cards to streamline expenses. Most French companies do not use corporate cards. However, FinTech start-ups have created corporate cards that help streamline expenses.
With Mooncard, in addition to your Visa card, you can easily take a photo of your receipt, add more details, and submit expenses to your accounting team. You can set various limits and validation processes.
Today’s news is interesting because American Express has been in a monopoly position for decades in partnership with Flying Blue. In France, companies had to opt for American Express if they needed miles as a reward.
When it comes to pricing, it’s very similar to what American Express offers.
There is one big difference. Mooncard relies on the Visa network. Many restaurants and shops do not support American Express, so it may be enough to keep customers away from American Express. Employees can use their miles for personal travel.
There are 3,000 companies using Mooncard, and there are many public institutions.
