CHP will deploy extra officers over the holiday weekend

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will deploy additional guards over the Independence Day holiday weekend.
Independence Day falls on a Monday of this year, and is a three -day weekend for the public.
The CHP is waiting for the increase in traffic on the streets of California.
The high performance period (MEP) will begin at 6:01 pm on Friday, July 1, and continue until 11:59 pm on Monday, July 4.
The MEP will have a special focus on speedy implementation.
Forty -three people died in accidents on California streets during the 2021 Independence Day MEP.
In addition, 997 were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
