A CHILLING note left behind by the dead ex-boyfriend of a missing woman could help police find her body.
Alexis Gabe, 27, was last seen in California on January 26 and officials suspect their disappearance was not by accident or choice.
Alexis’ parents have now received copies of handwritten notes by their ex-boyfriend Marshall Curtis Jones.
Cops said Jones wrote down directions to where Alexis’ body was found in Pioneer, an area 60 miles east of Sacramento.
The directions in the notes were specific – detailed landmarks and turns left and right with specific time estimates ending in a country road.
The crumpled notes were found in the trash at Jones’ sister’s home.
Gwyn Gabe, Alexis’ father, recounted ABC7: “As soon as the police saw that – they left and went straight to Pioneer.”
Detectives said Marshall turned off his phone for several hours when he drove to Pioneer, but they were able to identify his location when the phone was turned on.
Gwyn said, “His phone was there. The pin was around that area … we thought it was something to throw off the police.”
Jones was killed last month when officers tried to arrest him.
He would charge police with a knife in his apartment.
Police said a friend of Jones’ came forward after he died to tell police how he “thought about killing Alexis and wanted to know where the best place would be to hide a body”.
Gwyn said detectives and volunteers have now searched nearly 200 acres of land to try to find his daughter’s body – including draining more than eight million gallons of water in a pond.
“Unfortunately, they found nothing,” he said.
“They focus only on Pioneer. They strongly believe she is there.”
In May, investigators discovered they had found Alexis ‘uniquely designed cell phone case – and the FBI confirmed that Jones’ DNA had been discovered on it.
Alexis’ parents said they did not give up hope of finding their daughter.
Gwyn said he is not sure Alexis is buried in Pioneer – and his wife believes she is still alive.
“Until we find a body, we’ll just keep believing it’s still alive,” Gwyn said.
Her mother Rowena said she misses her daughter’s dancing.
She told NBC Bay Area: “Every time she is home, she sings and dances for me and makes me laugh and I miss that.
“She is nice and beautiful inside and out.”
