CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) — Clovis police are expected to release information about a shooting involving a 48-year-old man last week.
Last Tuesday, someone reported that the man was armed and potentially in trouble.
Just after 10 p.m., scanner traffic revealed that Clovis police officers knew exactly where to find the man they had been trying to locate for much of the night.
Officers planned how to keep the public and themselves safe from a man they believed to be disturbed and armed.
Two officers fired several shots and know his car windows were shot out. Rescuers rushed the man to a nearby hospital.
They are investigating all possible reasons for the man’s alleged behaviour, with particular emphasis on the possibility of attempted ‘suicide by police’.
The police will hold a press conference at 11 am. We will broadcast it live.
