A married mother-of-two out California has been arrested for drowning her sons – a baby and a toddler – in the bathtub while her husband was at work.

Courtney Williams, 26, was arrested Thursday at her home in the Sacramento suburb of Linda after the father of the children called 911 a.m. 911 a.m., the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department announced.

The man came home from work for lunch when his wife ‘told him she had injured the children’, the department said in a statement.

He found the boys’ bodies – five-month-old Holden and two-and-a-half-year-old Ronin – in a bath full of water, authorities said.

Despite efforts to wake her up, the children died on the spot.

Deputies who responded to the family’s ranch-style house in the 6100 block of Sunshine Avenue arrested the mother, seen on cell phone video taken by a neighbor who was handcuffed while dressed in pink sweatpants and no shoes.

Neighbors who saw the arrest described Williams as ‘no expression’ on her face, and no tears, reported ABC 10.

“At this point, detectives believe the boys’ apparent drowning was intentional,” the statement said, although it did not name a possible motive.

Williams was booked into Yuba County Jail on a murder charge and was ordered to stay on $ 1 million bail.

“The tragic loss of 5-month-old Holden and his 2 1/2-year-old brother Ronin is reverberating through our department and in the community,” Sheriff Wendell Anderson said in the statement. “There are no words to adequately describe the grief we currently feel for the family.”

Neighbor Heather Ronson was upset while talking to the station KCRA about Ronin, of whom she said she often saw his bike nearby, or playing with her own children.

‘[He’s] just a sweet boy, and the fact that I will never go to him again is heartbreaking, ‘she said with a sob.
