Fresno resident Dante Goodwin, 37, and his girlfriend Shay Williams were traveling to the tourist hotspot with friends and family when he suffered the crash on June 16 – the day he arrived.

A GoFundMe account has raised nearly $ 29,000 to cover the cost of transporting Dante Goodwin from Cancun to Miami
One of her cousins jumped into the pool and turned an unresponsive Goodwin around. He was pulled from the pool and laid next to the ground.
“He had blood in his mouth and said he could not breathe,” Williams said.
She remembered Goodwin telling her he could not move his hands and legs.
Dante Goodwin, a resident of Fresno, California, is being prepared by doctors who transported him to Miami to receive treatment for a broken vertebra he suffered while on vacation in Cancun.

Goodwin was taken to a nearby hospital and then transferred to a second medical facility where a doctor diagnosed him with a broken vertebra.
The doctor pointed out where the fracture was and told Williams it was ‘very serious’.
A GoFundMe account generated nearly $ 29,000 to cover the cost of a medical flight.
He was flown to Miami last Wednesday night and is currently hospitalized at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
