The California State Conference of Hawaii NAACP hosted its 10th Annual Heritage Hall of Fame Ceremony at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles on June 25, honoring Congresswoman Maxine Waters.

The Heritage Hall of Fame allows the CA/HI NAACP to honor outstanding community leaders who fought tirelessly to advance the civil rights movement and creates funding for local chapter capacity building, youth leadership programs, and outreach programs and initiatives. NextGen leadership.

This year’s ceremony brought together NAACP members, corporate partners, supporters and future leaders of the Youth and College Division.

“When we have people who are warriors in advancing the principles of the NAACP throughout their careers, we should recognize and applaud them,” said Rick Callender, CA/HI NAACP President. “When the NAACP works together with chosen warriors, we are a force to be reckoned with.”

The CA/HI NAACP is currently in negotiations to have their Legacy Hall of Fame Award recipients curated into an exhibit and placed in several museums across the state over the next year.
