California church leaders, shooting survivors join in prayer

LAGUNA WOODS, California (AP) – Church survivors and leaders are meeting nearly a week after the shooting of a Taiwanese American church group in California.

They also thank community members in Laguna Woods for their support.

The community is rejoicing after last Sunday’s attack on a luncheon at Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church that left one person dead and five injured.

According to one survivor, he was not afraid during the shooting because he did not know what was happening at the time, but since then he has not been able to sleep.

Pastor Albany Lee said trauma specialists will be available to help members of the community and a prayer service will be held on Sunday.
