California Officials: Get Booster Shots.Safely celebrate Thanksgiving holidays
The Golden State Public Health Authority recommends that Californians take COVID-19 booster shots to prevent the recurrence of the disease and to safely celebrate the holidays with their loved ones.
“It’s never too late to get it,” said Dr. Mark Garry, secretary of the California Department of Health and Human Services, referring to the COVID-19 booster shot. He was speaking at the Los Angeles County Vaccine Clinic last week.
“Get that extra protection for the Thanksgiving gatherings you might attend,” he said.
Last week, the Federal Pharmaceutical Authority (FDA) approved Moderna and Pfizer vaccine boosters for all adults in the United States.
Following the approval of the booster vaccine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC recommended it to people over the age of 50 and people over the age of 18 at high risk.
The CDC has relaxed the words of all other adults, saying that anyone over the age of 18 can shoot.
California officials say booster shots are abundant and available throughout the state.
“If you think you can benefit from taking a booster shot, I recommend it,” says Ghaly. “Supplies are available. There are many sites throughout the state, and there are actually thousands.”

California, Oregon, Nevada, and Washington gathered last year to form the Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup. This group of scientists, medical professionals and public health professionals is responsible for reviewing the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the CDC, COVID-19 infections across the United States have increased at a rate of nearly 33% in the last two weeks.
Authorities recommend that people who took both the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines at least 6 months ago get a booster now. Those who took a single dose of Johnson & Johnson at least two months ago should also schedule a booster shot.

Since receiving it last month, Newsom has been clamoring for a vaccine booster.

According to Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel, booster shots are managed under an “emergency permission”.
