At the end of spring break, students will return to Cal Poly campus before the spring quarter begins on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
After two years, Cal Poly students are returning to normal on campus, not being required to wear masks, regardless of medical condition, starting March 28, 2022.
“I’ll probably continue to wear the mask if I’m in my classes, even after the order is lifted because it’s comfortable for me,” said Cal Poly freshman Lily Brown. “I have an immunocompromised roommate and I don’t want to hurt them, even though I’m fine.”
Many of the new kids returned to their restrooms, reliving memories of their first spring break in college.
“It’s a habit, I would say it’s nice to go back with family and just have time to relax,” said Lizeth Preciado, a freshman at Cal Poly. “Then it’s not good to wear the mask on outside, but I think it’s always a habit. I always find myself using the mask a lot of times because it’s kind of weird.”
The masks will be required at health care settings such as the Health Center and the COVID-19 test site and even on the Mustang Shuttle.
