Oscar Alejandro Hernandez, 29, was found dead in Griffith Park on Thursday night a “good walk up from the park’s merry-go-round,” a firefighter reported at the scene.

Hernandez was last seen on March 16 at 2:30 a.m. in his 2004 red Ford Explorer. His family issued a flyer of a missing person, begging the public to help him find him.

“We are appealing to the general public to kindly help us find our missing family member,” the flyer said. ‘If you have information that could help us find him, please report it to the nearest police officer or contact his family.’

The Los Angeles Fire Department had at one point responded to a call on block 4700 of North Crystal Springs Drive around 7:15 p.m.

They then gathered near the merry-go-round of Fern Canyon Trail and entered a remote portion of the park. Under dense trees were found according to the man and his dog NBC Los Angeles.

The body was left out of the area, which was described as a remote hill, and was taken to a baseball field in the park, where the corpse was expected to take the body.

Griffith Park is 4,200 acres and occupies a vast majority of land, including the Hollywood Sign and the Los Angeles Zoo.

“Griffith Park is one of the largest urban parks with urban wilderness areas in the United States,” her website said.

It is separate from the eastern Santa Monica Mountains and its elevations range from 384 to 1,625 feet above sea level.

It is full of trails, attractions, picnic areas and sports areas, and is the largest park in Los Angeles.
