Bulldog Stadium to be renamed Valley Children’s Stadium

The California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees approved the renaming of Bulldog Stadium and Henry Madden Library at its July 13 meeting.

Valley Children’s Healthcare acquired the naming rights to Bulldog Stadium after a partnership between the hospital and Fresno State Athletics, which will last 10 years.

“Both organizations have invested in the health and well-being of youth and families in the San Joaquin Valley for generations,” said Fresno State President Saul Jimenéz-Sandoval.

According to Jimenéz-Sandoval, the partnership will provide $1 million annually for Fresno State student scholarships, along with operational and facility-related improvements.

In addition, Jimenéz-Sandoval said the partnership funds will also provide “other collaborative efforts focused on the university’s work specifically on children’s health.”

The partnership was announced in August 2021 by Jimenéz-Sandoval and Valley Children’s Healthcare President and CEO Todd Suntrapak, and approval of the name change was originally scheduled to be determined in November 2021, according to news reports. release.

“The health and well-being of our children depends on organizations like Fresno State and Valley Children’s to invest in their futures and create new opportunities for them,” Suntrapak said in August.
