Border Patrol agents at Interstate 15 arrested a U.S. citizen who was trying to smuggle methamphetamine into reinforcing seats held by his children.

Agents on Wednesday stopped a vehicle carrying two adults and their four children north of the checkpoint near Temecula.

K9 team alerted agents to the presence of drugs in the three child seats.

The driver was found to be in possession of 26.9 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated road value of $ 60,000.

The vehicle was arrested and confiscated. The four children and their mother were released.

“Drug traffickers will use every means necessary to bring their poison to our streets. “Nothing is sacred to them, not even the family,” said Aaron M. Heitke, chief patrol officer for the San Diego Sector.
