Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Car on I-5 Near Mission Bay
Authorities say a car hit and killed a cyclist who came out on Interstate 5 near Mission Bay on Tuesday.
According to California Highway Patrol The fatality occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m. on the south side of the freeway, just north of Clairemont Drive.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately known, died at the scene, said CHP Public Affairs Officer Jim Betancourt.
The accident forced the closure of two traffic lanes on the interstate until late in the morning.
