San Diego (CNS) – A 40-year-old man on a bicycle was killed in the Otai Mesa West area of San Diego on Thursday when he was hit by an SUV in a potentially intentional crash.
According to Lieutenant Adam T. Shalki of the San Diego Police Department, the crash was reported on Arey Drive 3700 around 11:30 am.
“The San Diego police traffic detective responded to investigate and collect information that indicates that the traffic collision may have been intentional,” Sharki said. A murder investigator has been assigned to the investigation.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was sentenced to death, the adjutant said.
“According to preliminary information, there were people at the baseball stadium at the Silver Wing Recreation Center who may have witnessed the collision,” Shalki said. “The vehicle involved may have been a brightly colored SUV.”
There was no more suspicious information.
The murder investigator was trying to find evidence and interview witnesses, Shalki said. Anyone with the information was asked to call the crime stopper at 619-531-2293 or 888-580-8477.
