Beverly Hills — Saturday night, Beverly Hills police officers, SWAT teams, and explosive ordinance teams surrounded a white van at a busy Beverly Hills crossroads.
According to police dispatchers, the standoffs began around 6:10 pm.

According to preliminary information, the Beverly Hills police station said, “We received a call from a van causing a car accident somewhere in the area of Wilshire and Spalding. Police forces contacted the van driver. When I tried to take it, it drove away and eventually stopped at the intersection of Wilshire and Rodeo. “
According to a broadcast report at around 11:36 pm, the standoffs were over and police expelled unresponsive people from the car.

Police couldn’t immediately see the number of passengers in the van, saying the windows were “covered with something that looked like aluminum paper.”
Drones were also used in standoff situations.
