Beverly Hills man charged with overdose deaths of 2 women

LOS ANGELES (AP) – A man in Beverly Hills has been charged with murdering two unconscious women who were thrown into hospitals in Southern California over the death of a drug overdose, prosecutors said Tuesday.

David Brian Pearce, 40, was charged with two counts of selling, transporting or supplying a controlled substance, a Los Angeles County prosecutor said.

Another man, 42-year-old actor Brandt Osborn, was accused of being a complement.

Pearce was already awaiting trial on charges of sexual assault against seven other women who were assaulted between 2007 and 2020, the prosecutor said.

A message left to Pearce’s lawyer, Jacob Glucksman, did not immediately return Tuesday night. Glucksman had told him earlier in Los Angeles Times that his client “firmly and firmly denies any connection to the unfortunate death of these women.”

It was not immediately clear whether Osborn had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.

Pearce was arrested in December in November on the death of model Christy Giles, 24, and her friend Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, 26.

Giles and Cabrales-Arzola were last seen at a warehouse party in East Los Angeles. Authorities believe they then went to Pearce’s village home. Detectives said the two women were given drugs and taken overdoses.

Giles was found dead outside a Southern California hospital in Culver City after the masquerade was canceled in an unregistered car, police said.

Cabrales-Arzola was left with Kaiser Permanente in West Los Angeles Hospital and died 11 days later after being removed from life support.

A Los Angeles County court office found that women died from overdoses and had various drugs in their system. Among the drugs were cocaine and fentanyl for Giles and cocaine and ecstasy for his friend.
