Bay Area man dies when his pickup hits semi near Hemet – San Bernardino Sun

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 52-year-old man died early Monday, September 20, when a pickup truck he was driving spilled into an oncoming vehicle near Hemet and collided with a semi-truck.

The crash was reported on Warren Road at 6:45 am. Warren Road is a busy highway with one lane in each direction, separated by a double yellow line.

CHP spokesman Matt Napier said the white Chevrolet Silverado had moved north on Warren, south of Esplanade Avenue. The driver of the cicada turned, but the front left of the pickup hit the front left of the cicada, Napier said.

According to Napier, both vehicles were traveling at a speed limit of 55 mph.

The dead driver was from Fremont. The driver’s license was not published immediately. Neither vehicle had passengers, according to Napier.
