AFTER two years of small competitions and limited training, skaters from the Ayrshire Flyers have been able to show what they are capable of at the British Championships in Nottingham.
Not taking part in the competition for so long, the skaters were unsure of how they would perform on the national field – although they did not need to worry, as the results showed.
The best performer in the competition was Chloe Cameron, who dominated her category, winning the junior women and taking home her fourth UK title.
Anna Reed also took the medal after finishing third in the C junior category.
It was Anna’s first podium at this level and she achieved two personal records (PB) in the process.
Jennifer Hall took fifth place in the Junior C Girls category and secured three PBs along the way.
In the junior class C Boys Tai Bao took fourth place and also got three PBs, a great achievement considering that for Tao this is the first season in the sport!
In the E Combined junior competition, where girls and boys under 10 compete together, Isla Rousseau demonstrated her best ice skating, finishing fifth and reaching three times at the PB.
