A day after AT&T announced first-quarter results, Jeff McElfresh, CEO of Communications, was reportedly appointed as the airline’s chief operating officer.

In 2019, McElfresh, who had worked on 5G initiatives, assumed the role of communications CEO. McElfresh has been appointed COO in an internal announcement, the company confirmed Heavy wifi.

The leadership reshuffle follows AT&T’s impersonation as the airline completed the sale of the remainder of its content holdings WarnerMedia eventually merges with Discovery in early April. During Thursday Result call, AT&T CEO John Stankey redefined the carrier’s priorities to focus on its wireless and broadband Internet businesses. He reportedly reiterated this realignment in his internal message to employees on Friday.

“Investing in what we do best is critical, but we also need to make sure we can keep up with change,” Stankey’s message read, according to Fierce Wireless. “To achieve this, we are making adjustments to our management team. These changes are designed to remove roadblocks to our business, enhance our creative capabilities, and focus on fewer but better products for today’s market.”
