At Home, a mega household goods store, will open this week at former K-Mart in Temecula’s Palm Plaza.
Texas-based retailers bring their vast range of home decor to stores that are about half the size of a large Costco. The company said in 2019 Plan to open at least 80 stores in California with a large expansion push.
“California is a state of great economic opportunity,” CEO Lewis “Lee” Bird told Southern California newsgroups. “Great economy. Great taste. And residents who love to decorate. We can be a choice of their value.”
At Home leases 86,479 square feet of space southeast of the center, including TJ Maxx, Food 4 Less, and Dollar Tree.
Products include furniture, mirrors, rugs, art and household items, tabletops, patios and seasonal decorations, all at varying prices. Shoppers will find that most products are not well-known brands. This allows for affordable pricing.
“You may have spent (buy) a lot of money on your home. We help you decorate it at an affordable price,” Bird said.
The company operates 228 stores in 40 states.
