At Home decor store opening in Temecula; Encore Gas & Supply debuts Inland hub – Press Enterprise

At Home, a mega household goods store, will open this week at former K-Mart in Temecula’s Palm Plaza.

Texas-based retailers bring their vast range of home decor to stores that are about half the size of a large Costco. The company said in 2019 Plan to open at least 80 stores in California with a large expansion push.

“California is a state of great economic opportunity,” CEO Lewis “Lee” Bird told Southern California newsgroups. “Great economy. Great taste. And residents who love to decorate. We can be a choice of their value.”

At Home leases 86,479 square feet of space southeast of the center, including TJ Maxx, Food 4 Less, and Dollar Tree.

Products include furniture, mirrors, rugs, art and household items, tabletops, patios and seasonal decorations, all at varying prices. Shoppers will find that most products are not well-known brands. This allows for affordable pricing.

“You may have spent (buy) a lot of money on your home. We help you decorate it at an affordable price,” Bird said.

The company operates 228 stores in 40 states.

Encore Gas & Supply Opens IE Hub

Long Beach-based Encore Gas & Supply has opened its first inland empire store and distribution hub in Ontario.

The 1631 S. Marigold Place branch offers industrial supplies and equipment lines ranging from welders, safety products, fillers, abrasives and hand tools. The store also offers Will Call pickups, industrial gas and gas cylinder replacement.

The company said the new location will serve as a local distribution hub for the inland empire market.

“Our share of the inland empire market has grown steadily over the years,” said Ben Anderson, president of Angkor, in a statement. “As our business grows, so does the demand from our customers for Angkor to be local in the region.”

Angkor was founded in Signal Hill in 2014 and recently relocated its headquarters to a larger facility on Long Beach. The company sells industrial gases such as argon, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, helium, propane, acetylene and chemtan fuel gas in compressed gas cylinders, cryogenic liquid dewars, bulk tanks and micro bulk tanks.
