Anzar Fire: 104 acres, 65% containment

Cal Fire reported Saturday evening that the wildfire burning east of Aromas is now 65% contained. The South Anzar Fire was still active Saturday night, but Cal Fire reported minimal fire activity throughout the day. Crews spent the day reinforcing containment lines that now surround 65% of the fire as of 7 p.m. The fire remained at 104 acres, Cal Fire said. Crews are still battling hot spots in the dense eucalyptus trees, according to Cal Fire. Crews also spent Saturday removing trees that pose a hazard, Cal Fire said. The removal of trees will allow residents to return to areas still under evacuation orders.
