Anker has released a new MagSafe compatible battery pack that connects directly to your iPhone and charges without the need for a cable. 9to5Google Report.. The Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K Wireless Power Bank will be available for $ 39.99 on March 3rd, beating Apple’s own rumored MagSafe battery product, but with one big caveat.
The PowerCore Magnetic 5K Wireless Power Bank features Anker’s regular power bank design, which includes a 5,000mAh battery and an LED indicator light that tells you how much power is left on the device. The device also has a USB-C output for cable charging. Adding 5,000mAh is a meaningful boost, especially for the smaller iPhone 12 mini, but is limited by the lack of MagSafe certification.
Certified devices, such as Apple’s own charger, can charge the iPhone at 15W, but PowerCore stacks at a slow charge of 5W. That magnet can stick to where other MagSafe accessories go, but PowerCore can’t offer the benefits of regular MagSafe.
Apple is rumored to be under development Unique MagSafe Battery Accessory For iPhone, it may reduce the charging time of 15W. Apple’s device was initially referenced in iOS 14.5 Beta, but that reference has since been removed. Until the accessory is released (if released), Anker’s new PowerCore seems to be a solid option for more convenient wireless charging on the go.
