Andy Levine sworn in as new Fresno Unified board member

FRESNO, California (KFSN) – Andy Levine officially became the youngest member of the Fresno Unified board of directors on Wednesday afternoon.

Taking the oath – a specialist for Levine.

“I just swore to my mom, something that fits incredibly well,” he said. “She and my dad are the reasons why I’m here and doing what I’m doing now. It is a great honor to swear by her and serve in this role in the area that educated me.”

He paid tribute to his father, who passed away a few years ago.

The book he put his hand on during the swearing-in was a book written by his father as a Psychology teacher.

Levine was elected to the school board in the April 12 special election.

He says that while he knows that there are challenges, he has already been caught in the schools of his area.

“I definitely plan to spend some time back in these schools to hear from students, parents and teachers what they expect from me,” he said. “This was a vacancy for several months due to the death of the late manager Carol Mills.”
