Judge Katy Perry made a lot of noise, appearing as the Little Mermaid for Disney’s night on American Idol. She looked a little scared of the miserable song that Nikolina sang from that movie.
After the show, Perry was led to the Press Line and singled out this performance.
“She used everything, shows, worked the stage, costumes, lights, you know, smoke, hair and makeup, a little acting,” Perry said. “I mean, it’s Disney Night. It’s not supposed to be that serious. Look at me!”
Nicolina is now in the top seven along with Noah Thompson, Jay Copeland, Leah Marlene, Christian Guardino, Fritz Hager and Huntergirl, whom Luke Bryan called radio gold, and Katy believes she could take the whole issue.
“I do not know how to do my hair for nothing or my makeup, and so I come here and everyone takes care of me so well, you know, it was just a wonderful experience,” said Huntergirl.
“The final moments of the matter depend on who the ultimate entertainer will be,” said American Idol judge Lionel Richie.
The three excluded contestants: Lady K, Emyrson Flora and Mike Parker are already looking ahead.
“If this is the beginning of the best experience of my life, I know that every other experience afterwards will be great,” said Lady K. “Well, I’m excited.”
“Now I’re just putting myself out there more and more, and I just want to keep doing this and keep building because that’s just the beginning,” Flora said.
“The only thing I wanted from this competition was to be described as a country artist, as not only by the spectators but for me as well,” Parker said. “You know, I had to believe that too.”
Only from here it becomes more difficult. Next week, the top seven become the final five.
The finale of this season is on May 22.
