HESPERIA, California (VVNG.com) – A California patrol on the highway is investigating a traffic collision that happened on Friday morning, which could have been caused by a race.
The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. between Joshua Street and Main Street, involving a silver Infinity and a half-truck Athens Services.
According to CHP Logs, the silver Infinity and the blue 4-door Subura were racing just before the collision at speeds between 110-120 MPH.
The witness told CHP Dispatch that Infiniti cut off the trailer, causing a collision.
After the collision, Infinity was pushed into a ditch, and a half-truck went through the fence and blocked both directions of Mariposa Road, south of Muscatel Street.
The driver of the Infiniti was not injured and the driver of the semi-truck was transferred to a local hospital for treatment with minor injuries.
There was a delay on Highway 15 in the north due to the incident. Hazmat was called to the scene to clean 10-15 gallons of engine oil and transmission fluid that had spilled into the dirt.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
