A Sunnyvale couple were arrested after police found a cache of guns, including a grenade launcher, in the home they shared with their children

SUNNYVALE — A Sunnyvale couple were arrested Wednesday after police found a huge cache of firearms, questionable drugs and stolen cars on their property on Waverly Street.

Police said the man had equipment for manufacturing weapons and currency at his home. Rifles, shotguns, bulletproof vests, thousands of rounds of ammunition and grenade launchers were found during the search.

The man and his wife were also charged with endangering the children because the couple’s children were there when police issued a search warrant on Wednesday, according to Sunnyvale Public Safety Department Captain Jean Lee. ing. Since then, the children have been cared for by the Santa Clara Family and Child Services Department.

The search warrant, issued after months of investigation, was based on information that the man had numerous weapons and stolen vehicles on the premises. The couple is being held in Santa Clara County Jail, facing weapons and vehicle rule violations in addition to endangering their children. Not sure.

Sunnyvale Public Safety officials are trying to ascertain the motive and determine if other vehicles on the property were stolen.
