VICTORVILLE, California (VVNG.com) – A helicopter landed in Victorville Park on Sunday afternoon to transport a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 395.
It happened around 3:10 p.m., on Sunday, May 1, 2022, south of Palmdale Road and along the west side of the highway.
Victorville City Fire arrived on the scene and requested that the helicopter land in Liberty Park. According to witnesses, the pedestrian was Hispanic and suffered severe bodily injuries.
Mercy Air 22 accepted the flight request and transported the male pedestrian to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The male driver of the dark gray BMW that was involved stayed on the spot to cooperate with the police and seemed to be very distraught.
Traffic south on US-395 was blocked on Palmdale Road for about an hour while lawmakers investigated the incident. This is an evolving story and additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
