9 injured in shooting at club in South Carolina

Authorities in South Carolina say they are investigating a shooting at a club in Hampton County in the early hours of Sunday that left at least nine people injured. It was the second mass shooting in the state in two days. The state law enforcement department said in an email that no casualties were reported from the Easter morning shooting at a club in Hampton County. No information was immediately available on the severity of the injuries. The SLED says he was asked to investigate the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office. Hampton County is located about 80 miles west of Charleston. The shootings come a day after shots were fired at a busy mall in the Colombian state capital. Nine people were shot and five injured as they tried to flee the scene at the Columbiana Center, Columbia Police Chief WH “Skip” Holbrook said in a press release Saturday. The victims ranged in age from 15 to 73 years. The Columbia Police Department announced the arrest of 22-year-old Joanne M. Price, who was one of three people initially arrested by law enforcement as a person interested in the shooting at the mall. Price is scheduled to have a bond hearing at 2 a.m. Sunday on the charge of carrying a pistol illegally. It is not immediately known if Price has a lawyer who could speak for him. Police said the 73-year-old victim was still receiving medical treatment, but the other victims had been discharged from local hospitals or would be released soon. “Do not believe that this was a coincidence,” said Holbrooke. “We believe they knew each other and something led to the shooting.”
